Recipe or Medicine for Buchan Laxative and Carminative and Oily Clyster.

Buchan Laxative
Clyster
Milk and Water 6 ounces of each
sweet oil or fresh Butter of each
2 ouncez- if an ounce of Glaubers Salt
or common salt be added to this
it will be the purging Clyster

Carminative Clyster
Chamomile Flowers 10 ouncez- anise seeds
half an ounce- Boil in a pint &
a half of water to one pint- proper
in Hysterical & Hypochondriac
cases

Oily Clyster
To 4 ouncez of the common Decoction add
an equal quantity of Florence Oil -
beneficial in bringing of Worms lodg[e]’d
in the lower part of the Alimentary
Canal- for Children it must be
proportionall lessen[e]’d-
NB a useful Clyster may be made with
milk & water & sugar or salt-
