Paregoric Elixir
Useful in coughs- & in the whooping
Cough- the dose is 20 drops or more-
Chalybeate Wine
Iron Filings 2 Ouncez Cinnamon & Mace
each 2 drams Ʌ ┌ Rhenish ┐ wine 2 pints infuse a
month shaking the bottle- strain it
off- it is an excellent medicine in
nervous Consumptions, strengthens the
solids & powerfully, assists nature in
the preparation of good blood- half a
wine glass may be taken twice or thrice a day-
The cough in the measles
may be relieved by a little Spermacetti and sugar {.....}-
Sore throat
Small clove of Rhubarb & Nitre are
very proper in Sore Throat and Ere-
-sypelas
Sore Throat
A small piece of Sal Prunel or
purified Nitre held in the mouth
& swallowed gradually is very effi-
-cacious in a Sore Throat- Gum Guia
-cum is regarded by some as a Specific
in the Sore throat- half a dram made into
an electuary with currant jelly-
