Description
Lavender Water
best rectified Spirits of wine 1 Quart
Oil of Lavender half an ounce
Essence of Ambergrease 1 scruple-
mixe’d well together, corke’d down close
& let to stand 2 months before it is used-
Lip Salve
Steep a pennyworth of Alkanet root in
2 ouncez of Sweet Oil- melt 1 ouncez of white wax
over a very slow fire- & strain
the oil from the Alkanet root upon
it, mix them together and pour the mix
-ture on the bottom of tea cups
which must first be wet with rose water

Hogs lard 2lbs Mutton suet 1/2lb-
melt them gradually- pouring the
fat off as it melts- when melted
add 2 Ouncez Rose water & beat it
with the hand till it becomes
like a thick cream- add [2s] ┌two shillings┐worth
of perfume & when well mixed put
it in pots-

Spirit of Salt ammoniac half an ounce;
Liquid Laudanum a quarter of an ounce.
Mix them for an Embrocation
