Vegeto Mineral
2 teaspoons of Goulard added a quart of soft water- & 4 of Brandy-

Msr.Thomas Goulard had quite powerful incentives in his promotion of lead salts as a medicine, He was charging customers what, in today’s prices, would be about £80 for a gallipot of this poisonous muck. The medical profession such as it stood at the time, were able to ask leading questions about this form of treatment and some were noticing that there were poisoning effects behind the use of lead ointments. One can assume the gullible public were unaware of such bickering behind the scenes and continued to kill themselves with it. Goulard was a quack
.

A pledget is a small wad of of lint or other soft material used to stop up a wound or an opening in the body.
